The ECT4Health 1st ZooMergency – Rural Emergency Nursing Seminar is a great opportunity to mix CPD, fun learning and experience one of Australia’s leading Zoos. A family safari or a getaway with the gang – however you see it – ZooMergency will be a fun filled way of learning.

This seminar will be run over three days (with options to attend one or both seminars) at the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo and will be a mix of emergency themed nurse and paramedic education. This program can only be described as unique. It is pitched at nurses and paramedics working in rural, regional and remote areas, who are required to care for emergency presentations.
Starting with some foundational physiology and the fundamental presentations of trauma patients’ respiratory failure, chest pain and head injury, then moving onto diabetic emergencies and environmental emergency presentations.
Acute Cardiac Module-1 Seminar includes:
- Basic cell physiology
- Assessing the patient complaining of chest pain
- MAP, cardiac output and electrophysiology
- Cardiac anatomy and physiology overview

ZooMergency Seminar includes:
- Snake bites and other envenomation
- Respiratory failure and shortness of breath assessment

- Minor head injuries
